policy, which has divided
Western politics
England legend Gary Lineker has
attacked new US president Donald
Trump's immigration policy in a string
of angry tweets.
The former Tottenham and Barcelona
striker, who won the Golden Boot at
the 1986 World Cup, has been a
regular critic of perceived anti-refugee
rhetoric from Western politicians.

But Lineker was as relentless in his
Twitter ire as he's ever been with a
strong verbal volley aimed at Trump
on Sunday.
Trump's refugee policy is not just
wrong it's downright stupid. Will
only provoke more hatred,
resentment and ultimately a
greater threat.

Trump's latest executive order to ban
those from seven Muslim majority
countries - Syria, Iran, Iraq, Sudan,
Somalia, Yemen and Libya - has
attracted strong criticism from across
the globe.
In the sporting world, Great Britain's
Olympic hero Mo Farah found himself
banned from the country he trains in
because of his Somali roots.

"It's deeply troubling that I will have
to tell my children that Daddy might
not be able to come home," Farah
said in a moving statement posted on
his official Facebook page on Sunday
afternoon.
Back in football, Mexico legend Rafa
Marquez is among footballers with
renown in the US to have been critical
of Trump since he was inaugurated
earlier in January.
